Get to know Conor

Although Conor was born and raised near Atlanta, Georgia, he has been making regular trips to Okemo with his family since he was in elementary school. Conor attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, on a lacrosse scholarship and graduated in 2016. Following graduation, Conor relocated to Iceland in pursuit of his master’s degree in renewable energy at Reykjavik University. Conor spent eight fantastic years in Iceland, where he owned and operated a successful bar. When he decided it was time to return home to The States, he stepped one foot in Georgia and knew it was time to head north in favor of a colder climate. He ended up back at Okemo managing the beloved Sitting Bull, where he met his wife, and turned a seasonal stay into a permanent residence.

Conor embodies the spirit of hospitality, and will do whatever it takes to make sure his clients’ needs are met. He knows what a wonderful, welcoming community Ludlow is, and eagerly awaits the opportunity to help others call it home. When he’s not working, Conor loves to explore the outdoors, travel with his family, and enjoy game nights with his friends.

Questions:

1. What does being a trusted real estate professional mean to you, particularly in a close-knit community like Ludlow and the Okemo Mountain area?

Being a real estate professional is a huge responsibility. It requires you to work well with others and understand what clients and homeowners need, as well as using my knowledge of the community to help people find the best fit for them. There is a lot of trust needed to do this job, and only by working your hardest can you make sure that at the end of the day, everyone is happy with the outcome and the process.

2. What value do you see in being part of a seasoned real estate team that has served the local community since 1958?

There are lifetimes of knowledge about the Okemo Valley specifically here at Mary Davis. The agents that work here have forgotten more about real estate than I am afraid I'll ever learn! I'm hopeful some of it will rub off on me with all the good work that gets done. These people are so giving, in both knowledge as well as in what they contribute to the local community, and being a part of it is something I am proud of.

3. What attracted you to the real estate profession, and what inspired you to begin your career with our agency?

Real estate felt like the next natural step in my career after over a decade in hospitality. I've always loved going the extra mile to make someone's experience memorable, and now I can take that dedication and apply it to major life events! I knew that Mary Davis was the right place for me because it is a team full of seasoned professionals all eager to share their expertise with me. There is an undeniable team spirit, and they are very generous with their time and knowledge.

4. What has surprised you most about your experience in real estate so far?

The most surprising thing about real estate is how many people are required to make the process work. There are so many people trying to help everyone, no matter what part of the process you are in. It truly does take a village to work in real estate. 

6. What drew you to choose Ludlow as a place to live and work, and how do you hope to become part of the community?

The Ludlow community has been life-changing. I originally came here just for a winter job, but it was hard not to fall in love with everything Vermont has to offer. I've never been anywhere more warm and welcoming, and I feel so lucky to have built lifelong friendships here. I look forward to being able to give back to the Ludlow community as part of the local Rotary Club, and supporting our wonderful local schools and businesses.
